This blog is truly all about Lions and its members. No funny stuff, no clever videos, no weird acts of stupidy, just stories, ideas, and worldwide fellowship among men and women of all ages, colors, differences and cultures.
It is my hope that through the use of modern technology, the computer and the Internet, we can bring these people together in what could turn out to be a re-birth of lionism. We are a vast and diverse organization spread out throughout the world yet we are as far apart as the miles allow us to be. Through the Internet and blogs like this one, we can come together as close as our own living rooms, dens, offices and coffee houses. All sitting together talking about the issues facing the demise of Lions worldwide. Why are we declining in membership in the USA while membership is growing in other nations around the world? Why are we adding new clubs in other nations in the world while we are closing clubs in the USA?
We need to break the cultural barriers which separate us and learn from our foreign neighbors and learn from their success and begin to re-build Lions Clubs in the USA. We need to develop our young people to be more civic minded and encourage them to get involved in the development of our future for tomorrow and not just today. It is through our youth that Lions Clubs will survive. As our older and devoted members become less active, we need to depend on the youth to keep the spirit of Lions alive.
